Ritualist condemned to 5 years imprisonment for possession of Dried human parts in Osun
A justice court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State has condemned a ritualist and herbalist, Adeboye Moshood to four and a half years detainment for being in control of dried human parts.
Moshood, 40, was captured by a Joint Task Force (JTF) on Tuesday, February 16,2021, in his home at Gbayarin, in Gbongan community, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state.
Police prosecutor, Fatoba Temitope, told the court that Adeboye and his accomplices committed the inhuman act contrary to sections, 517, 242, and 430, sub-section 34 of the Osun State.
He implored the court to rebuff him likewise to act as an impediment to other people who may be in a comparative business.
Nonetheless, Adeboye let the court know that he tracked down the carcass of a dead individual along Iworo-Gbongan while coming from Modakeke town in the state on February 16, 2022, and on seeing it, he found that the human pieces of the departed could be valuable for money ritual.
He stated that due to its usefulness, he cut the two legs and some parts of the corpse to make his mission well accomplished before being apprehended by the policemen who found the human parts in his possession.
The suspect from there on let the court know that he was not at fault for the claim evened out against him.
In his judgment, justice Omisade said the wrongdoer was at fault for the offense and condemned him to 4 years and a half years detainment with really difficult work.

The police in Osun State have arrested a 40-year-old suspected ritualist, Adeboye Moshood, with human parts.
The suspect was arrested by a Joint Task Force (JTF) on Tuesday, February 16, in his house at Gbayarin, in Gbongan community, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that one of the suspect’s neighbours perceived the odour around his house and alerted others. They challenged him but he refused to answer them. He instead took the sack away from the house and hid it in a nearby bush.
The neighbours reported the matter to the JTF officials in the area. They discovered the sack where he hid it, found decaying human parts inside and arrested the suspect.
“We don’t know where Moshood got the human parts. We just perceived the odour and asked his wife what was smelling in their house. When Moshood realised that we were suspecting him, he took the bag out of the room and kept it at the backyard. That was where the policemen retrieved it.” said one of the neigbours.
Moshood was later paraded at the Police Command Headquarters in Osogbo with the human parts by the State Police Commissioner, Olokode Olawale.
Speaking to newsmen, the suspect said: “I went to Modakeke on Monday and while I was returning, I stopped at Iwaro when I saw a body on the road. I reasoned that some parts would be useful for me. Then I cut them out for money ritual.”..TAP..TO.CONTINUE READING.
