JUST IN: Patrick Vieira sends transfer deadline message to Chelsea
Chelsea have spent more than £150m on Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and Carney Chukwuemeka this summer.
The Blues are still expected to sign Wesley Fofana for £70m
and also a new striker before the close of the window.
Chelsea have been linked with Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha this summer, and recent reports have claimed that the Blues could make a late swoop for the 29-year-old.
Zaha has started the season in fine form, and has already scored four goals in as many matches.
The Ivorian international has a year left on his contract with Crystal Palace, and is valued at £25m.
Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has however ruled out any possible departure of his star man.
When asked about a possible departure of Zaha, Vieira said: “I think there’s no comment to be made on that. I see him training every day and he didn’t mention nothing about leaving.
“He’s always concentrated on performing well for the team because he wants to win games for this football club.
“There’s a really nice relationship between this football team and Wilfried Zaha, it’s not going to stop now.”
Amid the links with Chelsea and also Arsenal who are said to have strong interest in Zaha, the Crystal Palace star has said he has maintained his focus nevertheless.
