‘Not happening’ – Alasdair Gold dismisses Spurs’ alleged move for 28-year-old

Alasdair Gold has taken to social media to rubbish the speculation linking Atletico Madrid wing-back Yannick Carrasco with a move to Tottenham.
The Telegraph reported on Monday that Spurs had entered into talks with Atletico over a deal for Carrasco.

The report claimed that Antonio Conte primarily sees the Belgian as competition for Emerson Royal at right-wing back, even though the experienced wide-man can be deployed at left-wing-back and further forward as well.

It was asserted that Atletico are under pressure to sell some players to comply with the salary cap imposed by La Liga and that even though Carrasco’s release clause stood at £51.2m, Los Colchoneros would sell him for a much lower fee.

However, this claim has been dismissed by Spanish journalist Ruben Uria, who has taken to social media to state that Atletico do not want to sell the 28-year-old and would only let him leave if his release clause is met.

Gold has now become the latest journalist to weigh in on the matter, with the journalist simply stating that the deal is ‘not happening’...WATCH.HIGHLIGHT.HERE

I can interrupt it to tell you ‘it’s not happening’ now if you like”
