BREAKING: Chelsea have chance to sign defensive midfielder after developments this morning
Chelsea decided to go shopping last night, and it’s been a case of better late than never.
Many Chelsea fans have been screaming out for the club to sign a new defensive midfielder all summer, with us all seeing that this is a major position we need to invest in.
However, it seems like until now, this is a position that has been ignored by the club and Thomas Tuchel. But, last night they decided to try and sign one, or at least that is when the reports started coming out.
Claims that Chelsea have been trying to sign either, or both Ibrahim Sangare from PSV and Edson Alvarez from Ajax, with local reports being released of our attempts.
For Sangare though, local reporter Rik Elfrink has always been clear that PSV wont allow both Sangare and Cody Gakpo leave this window, but it could be one or the other.
His latest reports this morning suggest that Gakpo was set to leave, but he now might be staying…
The translations below says the sale of Gakpo is not final, and he did not board a flight to Leeds in the end…

Vanuit Eindhoven Airport komen betrouwbare berichten door dat Gakpo vanmorgen niet in het vliegtuig naar Leeds is gestapt. TD Victor Orta van Leeds United vliegt alleen terug naar Engeland….
