JUST IN: Pundit tells rest of Premier League to ‘watch out’ after Liverpool latest
Liverpool have turned the corner after a slow start to the new Premier League season.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ recent results.
Liverpool demolished Bournemouth 9-0 last weekend (27 August) and sealed a last-gasp victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday (31 August).
Jurgen Klopp’s side went winless in their first three Premier League games and suffered defeat at the hands of man United before winning back-to-back games.
McLeish claims the Reds have now turned the corner and he is expecting more victories to come if the performance against Bournemouth can be repeated.
“Liverpool were on absolute fire against Bournemouth,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“They were on the attack right from kick-off. A lot of the top managers demand speed and getting the ball forward.
“Not long balls forward or anything like that but getting it forward quickly, overlaps and dribbles, Liverpool were excellent at that.
“Alexander-Arnold and Robertson were absolutely on fire once again, they are essentially wingers, aren’t they? That wasn’t happening in Liverpool’s first couple of games.
“When Liverpool are in that kind of mood, you need to watch out. It looks like they have turned the corner now.”
