Arsenal news and transfers LIVE: Douglas Luiz alternative, Gabriel Jesus ban, Partey return

All the latest Arsenal news on our dedicated live blog

Good morning and welcome to the Arsenal live blog for Tuesday, September 6 here on football.london.

The Gunners are still receiving support over a controversial VAR decision in their loss against Manchester United, but that won’t detract Mikel Arteta from the upcoming challenge as Thursday night football returns this week with the Europa League.

Elsewhere, there will be updates on the fitness of Emile Smith Rowe as the youngster finds out the extent of his injury after pulling up in the warm down against United. His availability could go some way as to determining which options Arteta is left with ahead of the match against Zurich.

Arteta will also have several days to think over where the Gunners fell short at the weekend, with some critics coming out to disagree with his tactical changes during the game.

We’ll bring you updates on all of this and much more, right here! Don’t go anywhere!

Arsenal are set to look at other options following their failed pursuit of Douglas Luiz, according to transfer guru Dean Jones. The Gunners made a late move for the Brazilian, but missed out on deadline day, now switching their attention to Danilo.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: “I think we can expect Arsenal to maintain their interest in Danilo, who they had set as a top tier target heading into the summer window.

There was a temptation to try for him because of their situation but he’s a young player in Brazil and they are content that they will lead the way for him next year anyway.”
