BREAKING: Pundit salutes Man United star who’s ‘better than Kevin De Bruyne’

Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Bruno Fernandes after his Man United transformation.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker delivered his verdict after it was revealed Fernandes has a better assist record than Kevin De Bruyne.

As per ESPN on Monday (7 September), no player has more Premier League assists than the 27-year-old since his Man United debut in January 2020.

He registered his 25th in the competition – and first of the season – in the 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday (4 September) with a brilliant through ball for Marcus Rashford.

“That’s the key in the lock,” Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“To spot the run and execute the pass perfectly to release the striker totally wrong-footed the Arsenal defence.

“If you notice, the pass was with the outside of the foot across him, Arsenal probably thought he was going to play it straight but he played it between the defenders and into the space.

“Rashford made a great run diagonally and he was off and at the races. It was a great finish.

“When it was 2-1, Arsenal were trying to push and you’re always going to be vulnerable because of the quality that Man United do possess.

“[Christian] Eriksen picks out a perfect run and breaks the line. People say Arsenal were too high but they were trying to equalise so you’ve got to take risks.

“Eriksen makes another great run and is unselfish to give it to Rashford who scores again.
