Latest insider offer claims new Chelsea boss could be in charge for Saturday’s game

Chelsea have agreed a compensation package with Brighton for Graham Potter, and are now just hour away from appointing their new manager.

It indicates how much work had been done behind the scenes leading up to this, with Chelsea clearly aware of how much it would cost and how willing Brighton would be to let their coach go.

The sacking of Thomas Tuchel was not a knee jerk reaction, let’s put it that way.

Potter could even be in place for this weekend’s game against Fulham.

Graham Potter will be appointed as new Chelsea manager, as expected. Agreement in place, contracts now being prepared as proposal has been accepted. Here we go. 🚨🔵 #CFC

The bad news is that the game is the early kick off, shaving a further few desperate hours off the timetable.

But regardless, all being well the appointment should be done well before then, and Potter should be in the dugout for that game.

It’s actually totally possible that the deal is agreed today, he’s announced this evening, and then is able to take the match preparation meetings tomorrow and on Saturday morning.
