‘No ceiling on what he can achieve’: Manager truly stunned by ‘incredible’ Spurs on-loan talent
Tottenham Hotspur forward Dane Scarlett has been praised by Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley on BBC Radio Solent.
The Spurs talent is currently on loan at the south coast club, where he’s having a great time.
Though it took Scarlett a few games to find his feet, he now has four goals and an assist in his last four games.

And all four goals came in his last three outings for Pompey.
Scarlett scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over Port Vale in League One on 27 August.
Three days later, the Tottenham gem netted in the EFL Trophy penalty-shootout loss to Crawley.
And on 3 September, he bagged both of his side’s goals in a 2-1 league win over Peterborough.
“It is a privilege every morning to wake up and work with him”
Speaking ahead of the (now postponed) Barnsley clash, Cowley sung the Tottenham talent’s praises.
“For us, Dane can be whatever he wants to be,” he told BBC Radio Solent, via Hampshire Live.
“He is a really talented boy and he has got a fantastic work ethic.
“I always think that the more talented you are as a player, whatever your talent is, your work ethic matches that talent.
“And if you do that, then you will achieve the potential that you have.
“That means Dane has to work incredibly hard, but he has a brilliant mindset and a desire to want to do that.
“So Dane can be whatever he wants to be and there is no ceiling on what he can achieve.
“It is a privilege every morning to wake up and work with him.
“I think he has got an incredible belief in his competence, he matches that with his work ethic and his attitude.
“So ultimately the way he works on a daily basis sets him up for success and he has that real single-mindedness that you need if you want to be a top number nine.”
For an 18-year-old to have already made 10 senior appearances for his Premier League club is quite a feat.
But Scarlett is still far from the finished product and has an incredibly high ceiling.
Tottenham fans will no doubt be keeping tabs on how he continues to develop at Pompey.
And over the coming years, it’ll be exciting to see how he develops as a player at N17.
