BREAKING: Casemiro and Antony have upped the intensity in Manchester United training

Summer signings Casemiro and Antony have reportedly upped the intensity in Manchester United training, according to the MEN.

The Brazilian duo were Erik ten Hag’s fourth and fifth signings of the summer transfer window.

Since arriving from Ajax for an initial £82m, Antony has started the last two games for the twenty-time league champions.

The 22-year-old also started Thursday’s 1-0 defeat against La Liga side Real Sociedad in our Europa League group stage opener at the Theatre of Dreams.

While Casemiro is yet to make his first Premier League start for the Reds having come off the bench in our last three top-flight matches.

The 30-year-old did however start alongside his fellow Brazilian against Sociedad.

The report from the MEN states: “Antony and fellow arrival Casemiro are understood to have increased the intensity in training and impacted competition for places.”

The pair, who started their careers at Sau Paulo, have become accustomed to winning following their trophy-filled times with Ajax and Real Madrid.

They are winners and they have seemingly injected that South American grit, determination and intensity to Manchester United’s training session at Carrington.

Ten Hag will love that the Selecao duo have already had such a positive influence on the group in such a short space of time.

The Brazilian internationals are going to be vital cogs of Ten Hag’s Manchester United side and it looks like their contagious work ethic has already rubbed off on their new teammates.

With Manchester United’s character repeatedly being called into question last season, it looks like Ten Hag has not only signed two talented players but two leaders who will lead by example in training.
