Manchester United are ‘more likely’ to sign Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Moises Caicedo than Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, according to transfer insider Dean Jones via GiveMeSport (h/t Express).
The Holland international has been someone who the Red Devils have targeted for a long time. The 25-year-old has been persistently linked with a move to Manchester during the recent transfer window.
However, De Jong prefers to stay with the Blaugrana. And Caicedo has jumped to the top of the list to bolster the middle of the park at United.

The Seagulls signed the 20-year-old in the winter window of 2021. However, Caicedo had his breakout moment last season. He returned to the Amex Stadium in January after a short loan spell and immediately made an impact.
United were interested in bringing Caicedo to Old Trafford this summer. However, the Red Devils failed in their pursuit. Chelsea are also a club keeping an eye on the Ecuadorian. And former Brighton manager Graham Potter has recently taken the top job at the Stamford Bridge side.

In the end, United managed to sign two midfielders in the recent transfer window. Christian Eriksen, who was a free agent after his short stint with Brentford, was snapped up by the Red Devils. The 30-year-old has started every competitive game for Erik ten Hag this season.
