A study on men’s health has renewed interest in the possible link between frequent ejaculation and the risk of developing prostate cancer.

The study followed men aged between 46 and 81 and asked them about their ejaculation habits at different stages of their lives. The researchers included ejaculation through sexual intercourse, masturbation and nocturnal emissions.
Men who reported ejaculating 21 or more times per month had about a 31% lower risk of prostate cancer compared with men who reported four to seven ejaculations per month.
Another study conducted in Australia, involving 2,338 men, also reported a similar pattern. Men who ejaculated more frequently appeared to have a lower chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer before the age of 70.
The findings have attracted attention because prostate cancer remains one of the major health concerns affecting men, particularly as they grow older.
However, health experts caution that the findings should not be interpreted to mean that ejaculation directly prevents prostate cancer. The studies show an association, but they do not prove that frequent ejaculation is the reason for the lower risk.
Researchers say more studies are needed to understand why the relationship may exist and whether other lifestyle or health factors could explain the findings.
The discussion comes as health experts continue encouraging men to take prostate health seriously. Early medical checks can help identify problems before they become severe.
