3. Immune System Weakness
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic (long-term) immune system disorder. The immune system attacks healthy cells, tissues, and organs. They may also be taking immunosuppressants, which suppress their immune systems.
Vaginal Cancer Therapies
1. Surgical procedure
Surgery is the most commonly used treatment for vaginal cancer. Some surgical procedures are intended to remove only cancerous tissue, whereas others are intended to remove diseased tissue as well as adjacent tissues and organs to which the cancer may spread.
There are several possibilities for treatment, including laser surgery, thorough local excision, vaginectomy, hysterectomy, lymph node dissection or lymphadenectomy, and pelvic exenteration.
2. Radiation Treatment
The majority of stage I vaginal cancers are treated with radiation. If the tumour is less than 5 mm thick (about 3/16 inch), intracavitary radiation may be used alone. Interstitial radiation is a therapy option for certain cancers, however it is rarely used. For deeper-growing cancers, intracavitary radiation may be combined with external beam radiation.
Chemotherapy is the third option.
Medication is used to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. The medicine can be taken orally or injected into a vein (intravenous or IV). In some cases, your doctor may prescribe chemotherapy in the form of a lotion or cream.
You may have nausea, hair loss, and weight fluctuations. With therapy, these will either improve or disappear.
