Things to beware of before refilling the gas
Make sure the gas cylinder doesn’t have any pressure left in it. You can do this by releasing the pressure in the cylinder by opening the lock key before refilling it. This method allows the pressure in the gas cylinder to escape, allowing the cylinder’s pressure to return to natural ambient pressure. Battery-operated items should also be kept away from where you’re refilling your cylinder.
It’s also not a good idea to drive the gas cylinder back home after a refill because doing so requires tilting the cylinder sideways, which means the contents in the cylinder will come into contact with the valve located on the opening point of the cylinder. This rubber valve will freeze when it comes into contact with the liquid LPG in the cylinder. The valve would weaken as a result of the freezing, which could lead to a gas cylinder leak.
Note: Just take the necessary precautions and follow the proper transfer and handling procedures when refilling or emptying gas cylinders. Do not attempt to patch any leaks or defects on your gas cylinder; instead, have it checked and repaired by a licensed cylinder test station operator.
