Drama in Kwara Court as Woman Faints After Husband Requests Divorce, Judge Adjourns for Reconciliation
An emotional scene played out at the Area Court Centre in Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday, when a woman identified as Mrs. Mulikat Abdulganiyu slumped after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, insisted on proceeding with a divorce despite her desperate pleas for reconciliation.
According to witnesses, the couple, who have six children together, appeared in court after Ishaq filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and constant quarrels as reasons for wanting to end the marriage.
During the hearing, Mrs. Mulikat begged the court to intervene and persuade her husband to reconsider. “My Lord, please help me talk to him. I have nowhere to go. I have given birth to six children for him, and I still want the marriage to work, please,” she cried before the court.
However, Ishaq remained adamant, telling the judge that he could no longer continue in the relationship. “I’m tired of the marriage, My Lord. We’ve had several misunderstandings, and I don’t see any reason to continue,” he stated firmly.
