Full List: 15 Senators Who Opposed Manual Backup Clause in Electoral Bill Released

The identities of 15 senators who voted against retaining the manual backup clause in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, insisting on mandatory real-time electronic transmission of results, have emerged. During Tuesday’s tense plenary, 55 senators voted in favour of keeping the provision allowing manual collation as a fallback, while Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and 14 others opposed it. The dissenting senators include prominent opposition figures from PDP, ADC, and APGA.
