The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) camp loyal to Kwankwaso, Dr Ajuji Ahmed will serve as secretary to the committee.

Also on the list are Chief Ralph Nwosu, Adamu Maina Waziri, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, Dr Sam Egwu, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Prof Pat Utomi, Chief Achike Udenwa, Alhaji Kashim Iman among many others.

The convention is expected to ratify the team of the ADC National Working Committee (NWC) with Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, among other members.

A notice on Sunday jointly signed by the ADC spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi and the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo urged all committee members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence and called on stakeholders to support the process.

The convention is coming up on the same day the Supreme Court fixed for the hearing in an appeal filed before the apex court by Mark.

The day also coincides with the date fixed by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in a case filed against Mark by Mr Bala Gombe who is challenging the legitimacy of the Mark-led national leadership.

The ADC has continued to conduct its programme of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, despite pending cases in court.

Sensing that the party could miss timelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) if it halts its activities for the courts to determine the cases.

The leadership crisis deepened with the delisting on April 1, of Mark and Aregbesola as National Chairman and National Secretary respectively by INEC.

The electoral body hinged the decision on a directive of the Court of Appeal which ordered the two ADC warring camps to maintain the status quo ante bellum.

Gombe, a former Deputy National Chairman of the ADC had challenged the Mark-led at the Federal High Court, Abuja, praying that court to void Mark’s claim to the party’s leadership and recognise him as the authentic national chairman.
