Now!The convoy of former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was attacked by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi.
The incident happened along Old NITEL Road, shortly after he returned from a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque.

Security operatives were later deployed to the scene, the state headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Malami’s residence to prevent further unrest.
Reacting to the incident, Malami described the attack as unfortunate, saying “It’s painful some thugs armed with dangerous weapons and stones, attacked and destroyed vehicles in our convoy.”
The APC condemned the assault, with its state Public Relations Officer, Isa Abubakar As-Salafi, vowing that the party would investigate those behind it. He also appealed to political actors to preserve the peace in Kebbi.
Speaking after an emergency security meeting at the Government House, Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani confirmed that an investigation had begun.
