Now!Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck has opened up about his struggle with illicit drug addiction and how he overcame it. He disclosed that he used to take illicit drugs while studying at the University of Lagos and almost died of overdose during an episode.

The ‘Pity The Boy’ hitmaker explained that he called his mother to book a flight for him to return to Abuja while battling with the overdose. He stated that after that incident, he only indulged in illicit drugs once before quitting.

“I was a very bright student while studying at the University of Lagos. But I was indulging in illicit drugs. One day, I took it and almost died. I called my mother to book my flight to return to Abuja. After that incident, I only took drug once before quitting,” he stated in a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast.

Odumodublvck stated that he was grateful to God because not everyone who indulged in illicit substance consumption were privileged to give up the addiction.

Warning of the dangers of drug abuse, he urged young people to shun illicit substance consumption.

“I’m grateful because there are some people that went into that life [illicit substance consumption] and they didn’t make it out. Some people didn’t make it alive, some had lost people to it like they died because of drug abuse. Some even committed suicide due to drug overdose. ‘I can forgive her’- Imisi reflects on her strained relationship with mother

In a recent interview, Imisi, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, opened up about her relationship with her mother, sharing a story marked by forgiveness, faith, and cautious optimism.

She described their connection as complex, admitting that reconciliation hasn’t been easy but emphasizing that her Christian faith has guided her toward letting go of past hurts.

“She is my mom, and I’m a woman I understand the sacrifices it takes to raise a child,” Imisi said.

“God willing… I can forgive her. I’ve forgiven people who aren’t even family, so forgiving her is something I can do.”

Although her upbringing lacked warmth at times, Imisi stressed that she holds no grudges.

“Growing up, we weren’t very close. But I don’t bear any ill feelings. She’s doing her thing, and I’m doing mine,” she explained.

When asked what message she would want her mother to hear, she paused thoughtfully.

“Honestly, I’m not sure. Maybe she should strive to be a better person, but she should keep praying God is with her.”

Through her reflections, Imisi demonstrates a delicate mix of honesty and empathy, showing how faith and forgiveness can influence even the most challenging family relationships.
