According to a report by BBC Sport, Chelsea cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, extending Ange Postecoglou’s winless run as Forest manager to eight Premier League matches and leaving his future hanging in the balance.
The Blues, missing key players Cole Palmer, Moisés Caicedo, and Enzo Fernández, recovered from a flat first half to produce a dominant second-half display that secured all three points.
Forest began the game with intent, looking to end their poor run in front of a restless home crowd. Elliot Anderson squandered an early opportunity after being gifted possession by the Chelsea defence, hesitating instead of shooting and allowing defenders to recover. Minutes later, Douglas Luiz headed the ball across goal for Morgan Gibbs-White, whose acrobatic volley sailed over from close range when a goal seemed certain. Those missed chances would later haunt the hosts.
Chelsea struggled to find fluency before the break, with a tame long-range free-kick from Reece James the only notable effort. João Pedro came closest to breaking the deadlock, dropping deep to loft a clever pass over the top for Andrey Santos, but the midfielder’s strike drifted narrowly wide.
With the game goalless at half-time, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca—absent from the touchline due to a one-match ban—made a triple substitution that immediately changed the course of the match. Within minutes of the restart, Pedro Neto charged down the left wing and delivered an inch-perfect cross that Josh Acheampong met with a powerful header to make it 1-0.
The visitors struck again shortly after as Neto stepped up to curl a magnificent free-kick into the top corner from the edge of the box, doubling Chelsea’s lead and crushing Forest’s hopes. The home side’s frustrations deepened when Igor Jesus turned Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross onto both the bar and post, summing up their lack of luck in front of goal.
Reece James then added a third late on, drilling home from the edge of the area after a half-cleared corner to seal Chelsea’s most emphatic away win of the season. Malo Gusto’s late red card provided a minor blemish, but it did little to spoil an otherwise dominant performance.
