Former Sokoto State Governor and serving Senator Aminu Tambuwal has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a letter dated March 11 addressed to his ward chairman in Tambuwal/Shinfiri, the senator representing Sokoto South cited “persistent internal crisis” and “ongoing conflicts” within the PDP as reasons for his departure.
Tambuwal stated his decision followed “deep reflection” and “extensive consultations,” adding that leadership disagreements and divisions have weakened the party’s unity and direction. The former Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed gratitude to the PDP for opportunities to serve Nigeria and affirmed his commitment to a “stronger political platform built on integrity, accountability, inclusiveness, and national development.”
