Tragedy in Lagos: Widow Recounts How Her Husband Was Choked to Death Over Furniture Job

According to a NewsVista reporter, tragedy has struck the family of Lagos artisan Aruna Imuekemhe, who was allegedly killed by his customers during a dispute over a piece of furniture he worked on.

Witnesses said Imuekemhe had refurbished some chairs months earlier, but one of the customers later returned, accusing him of poor workmanship. The disagreement escalated into violence, ending in his death.

His grieving wife described the heartbreaking scene. “As he got down from the bike, they dragged his shirt until he fell. The other one used his shirt to choke him until he gave up. I want justice for my husband. He didn’t deserve to die,” she cried.

Imuekemhe, remembered as hardworking and peaceful, leaves behind his wife and a young child.

Police spokesperson CSP Moses confirmed the incident, revealing that three suspects connected to the killing have been arrested while investigations continue.

The shocking case has left the community shaken, with many demanding swift justice for the slain artisan.
