Watch Theft: You owe no one apology, Davido tells Ubi Franklin

Afrobeats singer, Davido, has backed music executive, Ubi Franklin, after an allegation of watch theft during the singer’s wedding in Miami over the weekend.

A blogger had alleged that Ubi Franklin stole a wristwatch from a jeweller who had offered to sell it to him.

The allegation was immediately denied by the music executive who wrote: “I am currently aware of the recent circulation on social media linking my name to an alleged theft. I wish to make it clear that these allegations are completely false and misleading.

“Recently, I returned from my dear Friend/sister’s wedding and I am currently preparing for my sister’s funeral this coming weekend. It is an extremely difficult and sensitive time for me and my family, but I feel it is important to address this matter directly.

“While in Miami, Benny met me and offered to sell me a wristwatch. After reviewing the item and confirming its previous ownership, I decided not to purchase it in order to avoid any potential complications. I clearly communicated with him.

“During the wedding church service, Benny sent his brother another wristwatch to me which I had purchased and paid in full.

“Given the busy circumstances surrounding the wedding, I was in possession of both wristwatches and wore the one he sent to me through his brother.

“After the wedding, I had to leave Miami immediately to finalise my sister’s funeral coming up this weekend. While airborne, I was contacted by Benny regarding the other wristwatch.

“I want to state clearly: I am not a thief. I have never stolen from anyone in my life. I purchased a wristwatch and paid in full from Benny.

“Benny had earlier in the day debunked this news and yet it still kept spreading.”

Reacting, Davido described those behind the rumour as fools, adding that Ubi Franklin owes no one any apology.

He wrote, “You owe nobody any explanation… fools.”

Cyclist Ed Wonder laments as dirts take over Lagos Airport road

Published

Popular cyclist Ed Wonder has urged the Lagos State government to do something about the airport road in Lagos, which is becoming an eyesore.

In a video on X, he lamented that such shouldn’t be the situation because the airport road is the first road plied by visitors, tourist and diplomats when they first step into Nigeria

He wrote, “No billboard, no investment summit, no tourism campaign can compete with what people see with their own eyes the moment they land. A dirty airport road tells visitors wrongly that Lagos is chaotic, unserious, and careless with its environment.

“The painful part is that this problem is AVOIDABLE.

“Airport Road should be one of the most protected, most maintained corridors in the state. Illegal dumping should be impossible there.
“Waste management should be airtight. Monitoring should be constant.

“If we want to be taken seriously on the global stage, then the basics must be respected.

“You don’t welcome guests through a dirty front door.

“The question is simple:

“If we cannot keep the road that welcomes the world into Lagos clean, what message are we truly sending about who we are?”

I Told My Mum I Was Going To D!e – Odumodublvck Recounts Experience After Undergoing Tonsils Surgery

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has opened up about a terrifying health scare that nearly cost him his life during a tonsil surgery.

The artiste revealed that the medical procedure took place around the time he released his hit single “Declan Rice.”

What was meant to be a simple surgery to remove his tonsils reportedly turned into a serious emergency that lasted several hours.

According to the rapper, the operation, which was supposed to take about 30 minutes, unexpectedly stretched into five hours due to complications.

Fortunately, another doctor who was usually far from the hospital happened to be nearby and quickly came to assist, helping to save his life.

After the procedure, Odumodublvck said he struggled with fear and uncertainty, believing he might not survive.

He recalled how he expressed this fear to his 71-year-old mother before eventually recovering.

He said in a viral video: “That’s so crazy because I thought I was going to d!e. That’s so crazy. When I dropped Declan Rice, that’s when I did the surgery. I took out my tonsils. I don’t have tonsils, and when I did the surgery the first time, this is the first time I’m saying this on camera.

“Surgery of 20 minutes or 30 minutes took five hours. The guy that was doing the surgery said that in 12 years of doing that surgery, he has never asked for help. But that day, he asked for help, and the guy he asked was staying one hour away.

“But that day when he called, he was two minutes away at the filling station. He just came in , even the hospital did not know he came in. He came like an angel and went. When the surgery was done, I thought I was actually going to d!e. I was telling my mother that I’m not going to make it.”
